Precious Promises – Day 21 by SGLY Ministry
Today’s Promise: PEACE “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV) Today’s Thought: God promises to keep us in perfect peace, the peace that surpasses all understanding, if we will just focus our minds on Him and place our trust in Him. Today let’s claim this promise by just letting go of all our worldly cares, setting our minds on Him and trusting that He will work all things out for good. Today’s Prayer: Dear God, I want to live in Your perfect peace, so I will keep my mind stayed on You. No matter what the circumstances might be, no matter what is happening all around me, I will choose to focus on You and Your word to me, and in that way, I will be peaceful as I place all my hope and trust in You and in Your word. Thank You, God. In Jesus name I pray. Amen ********** Positive Change Bear (endure, carry) one another’s burdens and troublesome moral faults, and in this way fulfill and observe perfectly the law of Christ (the Messiah) and complete what is lacking [in your obedience to it]. —Galatians 6:2 Our happiness and joy are not dependent on whether or not other people do what we want them to do. We may never be able to influence anyone else to do what we think is right. But with God’s help, we can change ourselves to bring about the results we want in life. I have discovered that if I change in a positive way, and if it is a permanent and stable change, it almost always provokes change in the people around me. If you want your life to be different, ask God to show you how you need to change. Accept others for who they are, and see how God works in you to complete your joy. From the book Starting Your Day Right by Joyce Meyer. ********** Keep Thinking Positively Thought for the Day "What you think is what you become. Think negative and you become negative; think positive - you become positive. Try to focus your thoughts on God and His blessings in your life. We all have them - we might just need to recognize and appreciate them." _________________________________ Today's Word "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13 NIV) _________________________________ Today's Prayer Father, You have blessed me abundantly. Let me focus on the blessings I have been given and the good works You have done in my life. Let the positives push out the negatives. Let Your light brighten my thoughts and my path so I may walk not in the darkness of despair but in the light of gratefulness. Amen The Whisper Of God ********** Our Words by Seek Ye First the Kingdom James 3:1-12 writes about the power of our words for good and evil. James wrote in James 3:4-6 “And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire.” There are many ways we can misuse the power of our words. One is sarcasm. We often think when we use sarcasm, “it is harmless, he/she knows I am kidding.” However when we stop and think about what sarcasm is, “The use of irony to mock or convey contempt. Synonyms including ridicule, and scorn.” Would we every chose to mock or ridicule those we love most and who are most influenced by what we say? On the other hand, the amazing power we have for good in what we say can change those peoples’ lives. Let us use this power to strengthen, encourage, and uplift those we love. Dear Lord, Help us remember the powerful effect of our words on those we love and who love us. Give us the wisdom to use this power for their benefit. Inspire us with words they will remember for strength, hope, and peace in their lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen. ********** Today’s Scripture: “But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.” (Proverbs 4:18, ESV) Enjoy the Journey Oftentimes, people tend to get wrapped up and busy with things that don’t really matter in eternity. It’s easy to get consumed by your career and stay focused on your goals. It’s good to work hard, but you’ve got to learn how to play hard, too, so that you can stay in balance. I heard somebody say, “It’s not that life is so short, it’s that we wait so long to begin living.” If we want to truly enjoy the journey of life, we have to take time to stop and smell the roses. Do you appreciate the people you love? Do you hug your children before you leave each day and give your spouse a kiss? When was the last time you called your parents to tell them how much you love them? That’s how we can enjoy the journey. If you’ll stay determined to enjoy the journey of life, you’ll live with no regrets. You’ll see your path shine brighter and brighter, and at the end, you’ll be able to say, “I made the most of my life. I enjoyed my family. I enjoyed my friends. I finished my course with joy.” A Prayer for Today: “Father, thank You for the people You have placed in my life. Teach me to enjoy my relationships more because they are all that matter in eternity. Help me to enjoy the journey of life as my path shines brighter and brighter until the full day in Jesus’ name. Amen.” Joel Osteen ********** Ask the LORD for rain in the springtime "Ask the LORD for rain in the springtime; it is the LORD who makes the storm clouds. He gives showers of rain to men, and plants of the field to everyone" Zechariah 10:1 The message comes loud and clear - Ask the Lord for rain. Rain? What rain? Showers of blessings of course. Whatever pressing needs we have let us bring it all at His feet today. Ask and you will receive! Let us ask our Lord to send us the showers of blessings we have been longing for. It could be a job, it could be a much needed vacation or financial freedom or spiritual freedom or physical healing or mental healing - whatever it is, you know your need. Let us together bring it all at His feet and pray over these days; let's hold hands: Dear Father in Heaven! We praise your name in this 4th month and 21st day Lord. Thank you for your provisions in the last three months and past days Lord. Thank you that you are going to provide for us through the rest of this year too Lord. Dear Lord, the scripture asks us to ask for rain Lord. We are here gathered in your name - asking for the rain you have promised us Lord. Please send your rain at this very moment Lord, this very day Lord. Thank you Jesus! Please send the rain according to each need we have brought to your feet this morning Lord! Please Lord, we know you are mighty to save! We know your promises are ye and amen! We know you said if we ask we will receive it Lord. Now we are asking Lord. We do believe you are sending us the showers Lord. Please Lord, let the people not be disappointed Lord. Send them the much needed rain Lord! In your beloved son our beloved Savior Jesus Christ's name we pray, Amen! Coffee with Jesus ********** Give your burdens to the LORD, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. – Psalm 55:22 (NLT) Have you ever been really lost? I remember a time on a missions trip where I was in a country and I didn’t speak the language. My goal was to get to a bus, but I didn’t exactly know where the bus stop was. That was such a scary feeling. I didn’t know where to go and how to get there. That might be a little how you feel right now. Lost. Not sure what the future holds. Upset about the things you see right now in the news. Today’s Truth: I’m Not Lost The truth is God cares about you. He’s not forgotten you, and you’re not lost. He never leaves us without help. So if you’ve felt lost, take comfort. God really does care for you. He will see you through this and you’ll come out better and stronger in the end. So don’t let the things going on around you rob your relationship with God. Use this time to draw close to Him and see that you’re not lost, God cares for you! https://studentdevos.com/
