Precious Promises – Day 18 by SGLY Ministry
Today’s Promise: MERCY But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness unto children’s children. Psalm 103:17 (NKJV) Today’s Thought: What is the Promise? That God’s Mercy is for us, our children and our grandchildren, if we, our children, and grandchildren will believe God’s word and accept His free gift of salvation in Jesus. In doing this, we and they, will receive: Justification–Salvation–Eternal Life “But God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so very much, that even while we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. God saved you by His special favor when you believed.” Ephesians 2:4,5,8 (NLT) Today’s Prayer: Dear God, thank You for Your great mercy to me and to all those who believe. Thank You that because of Your great mercy all can have the hope of forgiveness and eternal life with You. I will never cease to declare Your mercy to my family and others so they may know and have the opportunity to believe and receive also. Thank You God. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation. Luke 1:50 ********** Today’s Scripture: “I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises.” (Psalm 34:1, NLT) Set the Tone When you wake up in the morning, do you expect the goodness of God in your life? Do you set the tone of the day for success, favor and blessing? It doesn’t matter what happened yesterday, last week, last month or last year; today is a new day. This moment, you have the power to make a change in your life. Things may be bad all around you. People may be negative, complaining and discouraged, but don’t let that spirit rub off on you. Instead, choose to bless the Lord at all times. Let His praise continually be in your mouth. Stay determined to set the tone for each new day by speaking words of faith over your future. Expect that your path will shine brighter and brighter each day. Enlarge your vision and make room for God to do amazing things in every area of your life! A Prayer for Today: “Father, I choose to bless You at all times. I choose to set the tone to receive Your favor, grace and mercy. Thank You for Your faithfulness to me at all times. I choose to constantly speak Your praises in Jesus’ name! Amen!” Joel Osteen ********** Break Free from Other People’s Expectations Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages). —Hebrews 13:8 Studies show that 10 percent of people will never like you. This means we won't have a perfect record with everyone and we should celebrate who we are. A person who knows how to do this does not allow the moods of other people to alter theirs. A story is told of a Quaker man who knew how to live independently as the valued person God had created Him to be. One night as he was walking down the street with a friend he stopped at a newsstand to purchase an evening paper. The storekeeper was very sour, rude, and unfriendly. The Quaker man treated him with respect and was quite kind in his dealing with him. He paid for his paper, and he and his friend continued to walk down the street. The friend said to the Quaker, "How could you be so cordial to him with the terrible way he was treating you?" The Quaker man replied, "Oh, he is always that way; why should I let him determine how I am going to act?" This is one of the amazing traits we see in Jesus. He was the same all the time. He changed people; they did not change Him. When an unhappy person is unsuccessful in making you unhappy, they begin to respect and admire you. They see your Christianity is something real, and they may be interested in hearing what you have to say. Even people who seek to control you will disrespect you if you allow them to do it. I encourage you to be your own person. Do what God expects you to do and don't live under the tyranny of other people's expectations. Trust in Him: Don't let others determine who you are or what you do. Don't put your trust in the opinions of people. Stay confident in who God's called you to be! From the book Trusting God Day by Day by Joyce Meyer. ********** No Condemnation Therefore, [there is] now no condemnation . . . for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit. —Romans 8:1 Don't receive condemnation when you have setbacks or bad days. Just get back up, dust yourself off, and start again. When a baby is learning to walk, he falls many, many times before he enjoys confidence in walking. However, one thing in a baby's favor is the fact that, even though he may cry a while after he has fallen, he always gets right back up and tries again. The devil will try hard to stop you through discouragement and condemnation. When condemnation comes, use your "Word weapon." Quote Romans 8:1, reminding Satan and yourself that you do not walk after the flesh but after the Spirit. Walking after the flesh is depending on yourself; walking after the Spirit is depending on God. When you fail (which you will), that doesn't mean that you are a failure. It simply means that you don't do everything right. We all have to accept the fact that along with strengths we also have weaknesses. Just let Christ be strong in your weaknesses; let Him be your strength on your weak days. From the book New Day, New You: 365 Devotions for Enjoying Everyday Life by Joyce Meyer. ********** Psalm 54:7 'You have delivered me from all my troubles…' - The Lord is your Deliverer – the One Who is able to rescue you. - The inevitable troubles of life are not too difficult for Him to handle. - In fact, He can deliver you from ALL your troubles. - He is your refuge and your strength, so run to your Deliverer. Prayer: Lord, how wonderful it is to know that You are with me and You are my Deliverer. I am trusting You to deliver me from all my troubles – even those unresolved things I am trusting you for. Amen. Kind Regards Pastor Andrew Roebert
