Precious Promises – Day 17 by SGLY Ministry
Today’s Promise: LONLINESS “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:18 (NKJV) Today’s Thought: We have God Almighty as our Father. We have the Holy Spirit, our Helper, dwelling inside of us. “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever–the Spirit of truth,”(Words of Jesus) John 14:16 (NKJV) We have Jesus’ promise that He will always be with us and will return for us. …lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:20 KJV “I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you.”(Words of Jesus ) John 14:18 (NKJV) We have no reason to be lonely! We are not ever alone! So, today let’s : Shed our feelings of loneliness Tell God that we are so thankful that we are His children Thank Him for sending His Spirit to dwell inside of us Focus on the blessed hope of Jesus’ return for us. Today’s Prayer: Dear God, As a Believer, I see from Your word that I am never alone, because I have You, Jesus and the Holy Spirit with me always. I am so thankful for that knowledge, God. Please, help me to remember these promises daily so if I should ever start to feel lonely I will be reminded to look to You, read Your word and know that I am never alone. Thank You Father. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. ********** Reading the Bible is worth it You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. – 2 Timothy 3:15 (NLT) Have you ever wondered why you should read your Bible? Do you ever think that it’s a lot of work to read it and that maybe it’s not really all that important? Reading the Bible takes a bit of work and sometimes you might wonder if the effort is worth it. However, reading the Bible is always worth it. One of the reasons why reading the Bible is so powerful is that it gives you wisdom. The Bible is full of truth. Reading the Bible will often give you insight on how to deal with a person or situation. Reading the Bible also helps build you up spiritually. As you read the Bible, you become stronger and more able to deal with the situations that you’re facing. Reading the Bible is worth it. So today, decide to spend some time reading the Bible. Start where you can, it might be something small like reading a verse for two minutes and then work on building up your time in the Bible from there. http://studentdevos.com/ ********** Hope-Full Thought for the Day "Bravely face whatever may come your way today. Know that God is always with you, lifting you and protecting you. Never lose hope that all will ultimately turn out okay." _________________________________ Today's Word "You are my strength, I sing praise to You; You, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely." (Psalm 59:17 NIV) _________________________________ Today's Prayer Lord, hold me in Your hand and protect me. I know that You have great things waiting before me. With You, I can face anything and, when I do, I will always emerge victorious. Amen. The Whisper Of God ********** Guidance When I meditated on the word guidance, I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word. I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing. When two people try to lead, nothing feels right. The movement doesn't flow with the music, and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky. When one person relaxes and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music. One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back or by pressing lightly in one direction or another. It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully. The dance takes surrender, willingness, and attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other. My eyes drew back to the word guidance. When I saw "G," I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i." God, "u" and "I" dance. God, you, and I dance. This statement is what guidance means to me. As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about my life. Once again, I became willing to let God lead. -- Author Unknown ********** “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. – Mark 11:23 (NIV) Doubt is a monster because if it’s left to grow, it can destroy your faith. Doubt It’s really easy in difficult times to begin to doubt. You might doubt if God really cares about you. It’s easy to wonder if things will ever get better or change. All these feelings are natural. So don’t feel bad for having them. However, don’t stop here. Don’t spend too much time dwelling on your doubts. Here’s the truth. God cares about you. He tells us time and time in His word that He loves us. He shows us again and again through stories in the Bible that He takes care of and protects those who place their trust in Him. That’s the truth. However, when things get tough, it’s easy to lose focus on the truth. It’s easy to let our current circumstances be more real to us that God’s love. So today, if you’ve been guilty of focusing on your problems and difficulties instead of God, determine to do something different. Choose to focus your attention on the goodness of God. Read scriptures about how much God loves you. As you do, you’ll find that your doubts become less real. Don’t believe the lie that God doesn’t care or doesn’t love you. Nothing could be farther from the truth! God cares and He hasn’t left you alone. https://studentdevos.com/ ********** God is with you today 2 Chronicles 32:8 ‘He may have a great army, but they are merely men. We have the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles for us!’ His words greatly encouraged the people. - May these words greatly encourage you today. - May you remember that God is with you today and at this very moment. - We may be up against great obstacles, but the Lord has the final say. - You have the Lord, your God, to help you and to fight your battles for you. PRAYER: Lord, thank You that I am not alone. No matter what I am facing or the challenges around the world, You are still with me. You are my God and You will help me. Amen. Kind Regards Pastor Andrew Roebert ********** Romans 8:31 'If God be for us, who can be against us?' - The Lord is not against you, He is on your side. - If He is with you, what have you got to fear? - Remember this great fact: God is for you and God is with you. - Nothing you are facing in life can undo this wonderful truth. PRAYER: Lord, thank You that You are with me and You are on my side. I have nothing to fear because You are right there close beside me. How awesome it is to know that nothing can stand against me when You are with me. Amen.
