Human Proposition
Human Proposition
Colossians 3:16-17 Pastor Carl H Stevens Anytime a child of God lives in human proposition, his resources become very limited. Difficulties are magnified above the provision, and the pressure from the problem is felt more than the presence of Christ within. Natural solutions can never deal with the source of the problem. Psychology teaches us to patch up the human personality with abstract remedies that only mask spiritual bankruptcy. The only answer to the dilemma of man is the divine provision of the Word to transform the soul inwardly. The magnification of the Word of God in the soul makes the difference in the experience of God's children. There is no problem or weakness in man that God is not able to transform through the divine impartation of His life and provisions of grace. The manifestation of Christ's virtues, mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering, forbearance and forgiveness is an indicator that the life of Christ is operating within the heart. It is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself who is able to keep us from the evil occupations of subtle propositions. "But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof" (Romans 13:14). Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Colossians 3:16-17
