Comparing kept me sick for a long time. I never seemed to measure up, so I felt less than. Compared my actions to the alcoholics/addicts in my life and didn't think I was that bad. Compared my story to others and didn't think I qualified because I didn't travel the same path. When I started to identify, I found we used for all the same reasons, no matter what substance we picked up.
