Precious Promises – Day 19 by SGLY Ministry
Today’s Promise: NEEDS “And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:19 (NKJV) Today’s Thought: If we are in Christ, God promises to meet our needs–“gloriously”! WHY does God promise this? Because He loves us and wants to bless us abundantly according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Jesus said: “You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him. "Matthew 7:9-11 (NLT) God promises this because He is our Father and He loves us and wants to give us, His children, good gifts. We must remember though that only He knows the future, and only He knows if what we ask for and seek is indeed a good gift. We may think what we need is good but in reality it may not be for our good in the future. So, some times God will say “Yes”, but other times He may say “No” to our requests, or He may say “Wait awhile”, however, He will always answer in some way. We just need to remember that and accept His answer even if it is not for what we think we need at the time. Remember, He will always supply our “needs” but not always our “wants”. Ask and it will be given to you; Seek, and you will find; Knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8 (NKJV) ASK-Matthew 7:7 Today’s Prayer: A-S-K Dear God, today I am asking, seeking and knocking as Jesus said. I am believing I will receive all I need for this day because Jesus said “everyone who asks receives;” therefore, I am doing my part, in faith, by seeking Your help and expecting that You will supply. I will knock on doors of opportunities that You place in my path to see which one might be opened to me according to Your way and will. Thank You, Father. I believe when I ask that You hear me and I will start looking daily, expecting to see ways You will provide for me. And as I begin knocking on those doors of opportunity that I see, and the right one, the one that You have chosen for me, will open to supply all my needs gloriously! Thank You, Father God. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. ********** In Everything, Give Thanks by Joyce Meyer The man of too many friends [chosen indiscriminately] will be broken to pieces and come to ruin, but there is a [true, loving] friend who [is reliable and] sticks closer than a brother. — Proverbs 18:24 We should not just praise and offer thanksgiving when there is a reason to do so. It is easy to give thanks and praise if we have a reason. But then it is not a sacrifice. We should, of course, offer up praise and thanksgiving at all times, being mindful to thank God for all the blessings in our lives and for the favor He has shown us. If we started making a list of blessings we would be quickly enlightened concerning just how good we really have it. There are many things we take for granted because we have an abundance of them, when people in other countries would think they were wealthy if they had them. Clean, fresh water is an example… In India and many other parts of the world, water is a commodity that is not easy to come by. Some people must walk miles just to get a day’s supply of it. We take baths in it, swim in it, do dishes in it, wash our hair in it, cook with it, etc. We can have it hot or cold, as often as we like, as much as we desire. There are times while I am taking a hot shower, especially if I am tired, when I stop to give thanks to God for hot water. There are many things to be thankful for if we decide we are going to be people who continually offer up thanksgiving. The flesh looks for things to complain about, but the spirit searches for reasons to give God glory. Prayer Starter: Father, I want to take a moment right now to thank You for all of the wonderful blessings in my life. Most of all, thank You for Your great love and for sending Jesus so we can have a relationship with You. Help me to always have an attitude of thanks and focus on the good things You are doing in my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. ********** Sing a New Song O sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have wrought salvation for Him. —Psalm 98:1 Your thought life is directly related to your attitude. In other words, what you think secretly in your heart is expressed in your words, facial expressions, and attitude. Would you rather be around people who have rotten attitudes or people with humble attitudes, thankful attitudes, positive attitudes, and responsible attitudes? Take an attitude inventory. If your attitude was a song, would it be “Make the World Go Away,” “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head,” “I Did It My Way,” or “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning”? Fresh, new ways of thinking will produce a fresh, new attitude, and that will enable you to sing the Lord a new song. Power Thought: I will sing to the Lord a new song, for He is doing marvelous things in my life! From the book the book Power Thoughts Devotional by Joyce Meyer. ********** We serve a big God and nothing is too difficult for Him Exodus 14:21 'Then Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the LORD opened up a path through the water with a strong east wind.' - The Lord can work wondrous miracles in your situation. - He can open up solutions that look impossible from human perspectives. - He can use the most unlikely things to bring about an answer in a situation. - You serve a big God and nothing is too difficult for Him. PRAYER: Lord, I pray that You will move in my situation. May the wind of Your Spirit come and blow away the obstacles and make a way for me to move forward and into Your plan and purpose for my life. Amen. Kind Regards Pastor Andrew & Vanessa Roebert ********** Lamentations 3:21-22 'I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease.’ - Remind yourself of God’s love and mercy for you, and be filled with hope. - Even when we face challenges and difficulties we can still dare to hope. - God’s faithful love for you will never end. - The Lord’s mercies towards you will never stop. PRAYER: Lord, right here and right now I remind myself that You are my faithful, loving God, and my merciful Father. Because of Your love and mercy I can dare to hope and believe that You will take care of me. Amen. Kind Regards Pastor Andrew Roebert
