Default Tricking Ourselves

No one ever said, or is ever going to tell any of us to get ourselves out of this mess that we're in is going to be easy, but it can be done. The best way to describe how we all got ourselves into this mess in the first place, that none of us ever set out to be in is that this thing that we all have is very cunning, baffling and powerful on how it goes about doing this to all of us. And because of this it can be very helpful to us to know that we don't have to try taking this on head on, but instead we can try to use a different approach that sometimes works better. For many of us who are in recovery in order for us to be here, and to get around this mess we're in we had to trick ourselves into wanting to be in recovery. We are using our own dishonesty to our advantage when we are doing this, and this will work for some of us when there seems to be no other way we would ever be able to be in recovery, than for us to allow ourselves to be tricked into being here. Deep down inside all of us who find ourselves in this mess we all want to find a way out of this and for some of us we have had to trick ourselves into wanting to be in recovery even when we thought we didn't want to be, and this will work for some of us if we are able do this.
