Default What We Do

Eventually today, most of us who suffer from this illness cross paths with the opportunity to learn how to live with it, without letting it ruin our lives and the lives of those around us. From this opportunity will come certain suggestions of the things we do that are really not that difficult, even though many of us think of them as impossible. Don't drink or do drugs, go to lots of meetings, get a temporary sponsor, try working the 12 steps, have an open mind, ask for help, learn to pray, and be good to ourselves and those around us. All these suggestions and many more are the things that have worked. It's' what we do to recover. Living with our illness is difficult, but not at all impossible proved by the millions who have done these very same things. If we try doing the suggestions it's guaranteed we'll be amazed before we are halfway through.
