The Four Agreements
Quote:
My thought was "Walk your talk!" and "Don't assume, you make an a$$ out of you and me!" It took me a long time to accept that just because I made a mistake, I wasn't one. Just because I did something foolish, it didn't make me a fool even though my birthday was April 1st. NA says "All we are asked to do is try." For me, that means all I have to do is try to be the best me I can be in today. No more, no less, just be me. For so many years I carried a false sense of guilt and responsibility because I was told it was my fault for other people's actions and decisions. Recovery is such a freeing gift. A good reminder, always good to look at where you are at in today. I like the second one. It is good to verify. "I heard you say, "...., is that what you meant to say." I took it to mean, "...., is that what you meant to portray." Are we on the same page? What am I not understanding?
