Listen

LISTEN

When we are devoted to God, we will want to listen to Him. We will want to obey Him. We will want to be wise as He calls us to be. When we are devoted to God, we will be wise and spend time with Him daily. We will pray daily. We will read His word daily. When we are devoted to God, we won’t have to be told to do these things. We will have a strong desire to listen, to learn and to follow.

Matthew 7:24 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we come to You today to show You our devotion to You. We need You. We need Your word. We need Your teaching. We need Your direction. We know if we follow You, we will be wise as the person who builds a house on solid rock. Give us direction today and allow the Holy Spirit to work through us to give us the strength and desire to obey You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we really listen to God, we will want to obey.

God calls us to hear His word and to also put it into action.

When we are devoted to God, we won’t have to be reminded to listen and obey Him.

Just as those who listen and obey are wise, those who listen and don’t obey are fools.

How many of us hear God’s word with our ears but we don’t really listen? Or we know what is right but we don’t do it?

Isaiah 42:20 “You see and recognize what is right but refuse to act on it. You hear with your ears, but you don’t really listen.” (NLT)

Focus: Listen to God’s word today, pray about it and ask God how you can put it into action so you can best learn from it.
