Default Start Over Again

START OVER AGAIN

Many of us believe we are too far gone to get help. We have bad health habits where we aren’t taking care of our bodies, minds or spirits. Some of us have addictions that harm our bodies and we can’t seem to stop. Others have rituals we do daily that are not pleasing to God and mess with our minds. Many of us tend to pay more attention to the media rather than God’s word. All these things get us off track every day. But God can save us and help us get back on track. He is ready for us to turn to Him and start over again. We can begin today with prayer and getting into God’s word.

SCRIPTURE:
James 1:21 “So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write how you have gotten off track.
2. List the ways you have followed this world.
3. Know God’s path is always the best one to follow.
4. Get into His word, pray and choose to follow only God.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, please forgive us for straying from Your word. Please forgive us for not living the life You have created for us. We want to take care of ourselves in all areas of our lives but we know we cannot do that successfully without You in our lives. Help us today to restart our lives putting You first and living according to Your will. Show us Your way to follow as we read Your word. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
Romans 1:21 “Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.” (NLT)

The more we get into God’s word, the more He will help us turn from our human desires and truly live for Him.

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” (NLT)

When we remember all the good we have from God, we can allow Him to renew our hearts, bodies and minds so we can start over living a healthy life for Him.

FOCUS: Psalm 16:1-2 “Protect me, Lord God! I run to you for safety, and I have said, ’Only you are my Lord! Every good thing I have is a gift from you.’” (CEV)

We stay sober and clean together - one day at a time!
God says that each of us is worth loving.
