Default Steps of Grief

Do we bargain with God. Do we list all the things we did and all the things He didn't do? Do we question life and blame Him or do we recognize that we had a part in being where we are in today. As they say, "I am where I am in today as a result of decisions made.

Bargaining is a part of grief. Blaming ourselves, thinking we should have done more or not done this or that. What could I have done to make it not happen? Second guessing ourselves and God, gets us no where. We think it might not have happened, "if only...!" We feel like we failed, yet in truth, we don't have the power, except through prayer. It is God's choice and He is the only One who knows although I often feel like He should give me a hint, so we both know.

The grieving process is getting to that place of accepting, "God's Will" and knowing that sometimes we are as a result of other people's choices, especially if we allow them to dictate our life and actions.

Every time there is change, we go through a grieving process, sometimes small, sometimes more hurtful, but when we get to the other side, we can find and feel God's Love and Grace, and know it all wasn't in vain.

Recovery, getting clean and sober, takes us through a grieving process.
