Default Let Jesus Shine

Let Jesus Shine

"No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light." Luke 8:16

It would be absurd to light a lamp and hide it anywhere, for what would the purpose be then? It would be a waste, a senseless act. A light is to be used to help us to see in the dark. So it is with Jesus in our lives: he is the light of the world, and it is he who can shine forth in the darkness. Would we hide him away and let those around us stumble around in the darkness? How absurd! We possess the light of the world; should we not be displaying that light to all those around us that they might see clearly? Let each of us go forth today and proudly display the Light of the World for all to see. Let Jesus shine forth from your lamp that the darkness might be dispelled and others might be able to see clearly Jesus Christ in your life!

Father, keep the light of Jesus shining brightly through me. Help me to never be ashamed of him or to hide him from view. Jesus is the light that gave my life meaning; help me to be the conduit through which his light can shine to others in darkness that they might come to know and love You as I do. Amen
