Default Practice Renewal

PRACTICE RENEWAL

If we want to be strong in anything, we need to practice. However, after a while the practice we do may become a routine and seem ineffective. That is why we need renewal. We need to take some time away from the practice so we can be refreshed and ready for the next practice. So it just makes sense that we practice renewal. How do we practice renewal in the Lord? We actually need daily renewal from God to keep strong in this world. Daily renewal includes reading His word, worshiping Him, and prayer. When we put our hope in God, He will renew our strength.

SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 40:31 “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow wear, they will walk and not be faint” (NIV)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write down what you do to renew yourself.
2. List the ways God wants you to renew yourself in Him.
3. Know God is ready for you to do His will today.
4. Go to Him and seek a renewed life so you can live in obedience to Him.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, we want to obey You and live for You. We know we get tired and distracted. We know we sometimes want to give up. We know we get anxious and worried. That is why it is so important we stop and renew our lives in You every day. Help us today to put our hope in You. Create in us a clean heart and renew our spirits to be loyal and obedient to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
Worshiping God can energize us and prepare us for a new week.

Reading God’s word will help us renew our hope in Him because His word is alive and to be used to strengthen us and help others.

Praying to God daily can renew us for the day and remind us to keep our focus on God.

Being loyal to God and spending daily time with Him will help our relationship with Him and others.

We should ask God daily to create in us a clean heart and to renew a loyal spirit within us.

FOCUS:
Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.” (NLT)

Daily renewal is needed to get through another day living in obedience to God.

We stay sober and clean together - one day at a time!
God says that each of us is worth loving.
