This reminds me of how, especially in early recovery, but can still find myself doing it in today, talking in the third person.
It was like I didn't want to take acknowledgement, and then I felt like I was acknowledging something, that in the past I would have ignored or stuffed. i.e. When I say, "It is a JoAnne thing." It is generally a put down or an excuse for a behaviour that I tell myself is a mistake, offensive, or something laughable, hah, hah, like it is funny, but in reality, it is not.
