Default Why Train?

WHY TRAIN?

Training ourselves to do anything takes time and perseverance. We have to be disciplined and have a great desire to learn and to improve. Why? Because no one is going to do it for us. Let’s face it. Once we become adults we can pretty much decide on what training we want to take. We may opt for training on how to paint, workout, etc. We may look into training our minds by reading more and working complex problems. Whatever the training, we need a desired outcome or reason for the training. The reason we train ourselves with God’s word is so we can draw closer to Him, know His plan for us and share His word with others. Doing these things will fulfill the reason He created us and will bring us true joy.

SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 5:14 “Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write down types of training you have had.
2. List how you have trained from God’s word.
3. Know God wants us to train daily to live for Him.
4. Set a time and get started today training in God’s word.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, help us to know the importance and the reason we train ourselves to read Your word and spend time alone with You. Help us to remember to draw close to You, know Your plan for our lives and share Your word with others. We know when we live for You we will want to persevere and train ourselves every day. We want to train to know You and have a personal relationship with You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
When we get old enough to get out our own, we are to remember to train ourselves with God’s word.

God has many lessons in His word to help us train to live as He has called us to live.

Training is a choice we can make. Let’s be sure to choose to train from the word of God.

If we want to take the right path in our lives, we need to train ourselves with God’s word.

When we take time to train in God’s word, we will know how to live a godly life.

FOCUS: 1 Timothy 6:11b “Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.” (NLT)

When we pursue God’s word, we will have all we need to live a successful and joyful life.
