Default Boldly Resist

BOLDLY RESIST

We have probably all had some type of pests in our homes. We may have been invaded by ants, roaches or had a rodent or two at one time or another. What do we do when we our house is invaded by unwanted pests? We get something to get rid of them fast! They are nasty. They leave behind droppings. They are annoying. So why is it if we don't like to deal with bugs and rodents in our homes that we allow Satan into our lives? He slithers around like a snake waiting to tempt us with his worldly ways. We need to be proactive and boldly be ready to resist temptation by staying in God's word.

Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires." (NLT)

Dear Lord, we come to You to ask You to help us fight the war against Satan. He is behind all the sin in this world. He worms his way in telling us things we want to hear and only causes ruckus in our lives and the lives of others. We know there is a spiritual war going on inside of each of us against the devil. Help us to fight back with Your word and with prayer in the name of Jesus. We know You are able to defeat Satan when we quote Your word and boldly call upon Your name. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.

The devil wants to keep us from praying and doing God's will. That is why we have to boldly resist Him.

We should prepare ourselves by memorizing God's word so we are ready when the devil tempts us.

Just as we are eager to get rid of the pests in our homes, we should eagerly seek out ways to get rid of Satan in our lives.

Temptation happens to us all. We should learn to recognize it, call on God for help and resist the temptations.

When we are tempted, God has a way out for us if we will only call on Him.

1 Corinthians 10:13b "When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure." (NLT)

Focus: God's word is able to teach us how to recognize and boldly resist temptation.
