Default Topic of the week, words that begin with the letter "T"

T is for trust. Always had trouble with the words, "Trust and obey," especially when it came to marriage. It took me two years to get 10 years of marriage.

I had to learn to trust the program and through obeying the Good Orderly Direction they gave me, I was able to stay clean and sober.

As I have said many times, and it always comes to mind for me, "If I am doubting myself, I am doubting and not trusting my God."

T is for Try. TRY is made up of the last letter of the words, "JusT foR todaY." All we are asked to do is to try our best. There is no right or wrong way of trying. Just for today, don't pick up no matter what.

T is for Thought. In recovery, I found it was my thinking behind my drinking and drugging that I needed to change in order to recover. As I have said many times, "Just because I have a thought, doesn't mean I have to act on it. It is amazing how thoughts can come and go and if I don't have that spiritual defense, my thinking can go out the window and I am back acting out in my dis-ease.

T is for Too. This program worked for others, it will work for me too! This too shall pass, be it positive or negative, so live in the moment, taking life one day at a time.

T is for Think. In Al-Anon, this is their slogan. In AA, their slogan is THINK, THINK, THINK. Some is good, more is better??? Nope, it means give little thought of the past and little thought of what is to be in tomorrow, think and focus on today.

THINK - THINK - THINK

T is for Talk. Walk your talk. Do people see your words reflected in what you do and how you live your life. Do you talk a good story, but fall short of applying the principles to your life. We are only human, but all we are asked to do is try. It is in the NOT trying that we fail.

T is for Try

Try to turn you life and your will over to your Higher Power.
Try the 12 and 12, not just 1 and 12. Work your program of sobriety.
Try to eat at regular hours. Don't get too hungry.
Try to get plenty of sleep. Don't get too tired.
Try to not get too lonely. Take down the bricks from the wall around you.
