Depend On God
And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you. —Philippians 1:6 Whatever you may be struggling with today, the Holy Spirit will help you live a self-controlled life, because the Bible says that selfcontrol is a fruit of the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit (See Galatians 5:22–23). Allow the Holy Spirit to help you admit when you have a problem that you need His help to overcome; then ask God for help from the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, “Behold! I have given you authority and power . . . and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enem [possesses]” (Luke 10:19). From the book Starting Your Day Right: Devotions for Each Morning of the Year by Joyce Meyer.
