Commit To God
To commit means to carry out an action or pledge to something or someone. What we do on a regular basis, we are committed to doing. We may be committed to work. We may be committed to a particular sport. We may be committed to staying healthy. When we are committed, we stay focused and give it our all until we succeed. However, first and foremost, we should be committed to God. We should be committed to His commands and our actions should be His will if we want His plans in us to succeed. Deuteronomy 6:6 “And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today.” (NLT) Dear Lord, we want to commit our lives to You today. We want to commit ourselves wholeheartedly to Your commandments so we are thinking about and doing Your will every day. We want Your plans to succeed in us and we know that requires commitment on our part. We commit our thoughts to You today. We commit our actions to You today. We commit our lives to You today. In Jesus’ name. Amen. God’s word is all we need to know what we need to change in our lives so we can commit ourselves wholeheartedly to Him. If we aren’t sure what we need to do to change so we can commit ourselves to God, we should begin with prayer. When we earnestly seek God every day, we will learn what He wants us to do. God wants us to commit our lives to Him so He can use us to carry out His plans. When we commit our actions to the Lord, we will want to obey Him and follow through with His plans. Proverbs 16:3-4 “Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. The Lord has made everything for his own purposes, even the wicked for a day of disaster.” (NLT) Focus: Commit to God today. Get into His word. Listen to godly messages online. Pray. And become committed to Him. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_pu...log_id=5854038
