Have You Asked God?
Have You Asked God? Read Proverbs 13:1 through 16:33. Recently a young man called an older more experienced Christian for advice. The young man had been offered a new job that would mean some significant changes for his wife and family. He probably expected his counselor would consider the potential benefits and bless this new chapter in his life. But after hearing about the opportunity, the counselor asked him one simple question: “What does God say about this?” Silence followed. The counselor suggested the young man take time to seek God before making a final decision. Eventually, the young man decided to turn down the job offer. In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps (Proverbs 16:9). God allows us to have free will. We get to make our own decisions but the best decision we can make is to seek God and allow Him to guide our life-changing choices. God has a plan for every person’s life and He knows what path leads to the best outcome. Trust Him to be your guide. Prayer Suggestion: God, help me to always allow You to guide my steps. Quicklook: Proverbs 16:1–9

Taking God for granted, thinking, "Well He knows!" can only lead to disappointment, feelings of abandonment, rejection, resentments, etc.
God may know, a whole lot more than you do, yet it is important for us to acknowledge Him and ask for His good orderly direction. How can He answer, if we don't ask in prayer and meditation.
