A Refuge
"The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him." Nahum 1:7 We have all found ourselves in times of trouble and the LORD has always been there for us, as a refuge from the storms of life. Whether we take refuge in Him is up to us, He cannot force us to run to him when we are in distress. He just waits and lets His presence be known, if we will but look up and away from our distress to Him. The choice is ours: do we wish to battle life's storms alone or do we wish to run to Him for help and protection? The LORD is our caring Father, our protector, our refuge. He really cares for those who trust in him. Trust is something that our Father greatly desires from us. He knows that once we have learned to trust in Him there is nothing in this life that can take us down. When we run to Him we are safe from all of life's storms and nothing can move us from our place of safety. This is His desire for us; that we might overcome the trials of this life and grow. Yes, the LORD is good and we are in need of nothing when we take refuge in His arms and put our trust in Him! Father, when the storms of life come upon me, help me to see You reaching through the wind and rain to me. You have promised that You will be with me, but it is up to me to take Your hand. Strip me of my useless pride and make me wholly dependent upon You. Hold me tight in the storms of life, for when I am in Your arms I know I am safe from all harm. Amen Quiet Waters
