Default Repetition Brings Strength

REPETITION BRINGS STRENGTH

Bodybuilders know repeating a move over and over will strengthen their muscles. When they are consistent and work out regularly, they become stronger and stronger and are able to handle more and more weight. With repetition, comes strength. If we want to become stronger in God’s word, we need to read it consistently. If we want to become a stronger Christian, we need to repeatedly go to God in all things. If we want to become stronger in our daily walk with God, we need to remember repetition brings strength.

1 Timothy 4:8 “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we come to You today for strength. We know reading Your word, meditating on it and memorizing will bring us strength in Your word. We know praying to You regularly, crying out to You, praising You and worshiping You will bring us strength in our daily walk with You. We know being obedient to You and following You will bring us strength in leading by example to others who need to know You. Help us today, Lord, to be strong so we are drawing closer to You every day and living the life You have called us to live. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

A consistent walk with Jesus brings us closer to Him and makes us stronger.

When we go to God every day, He make us stronger every day.

A continuous prayer life where to go to God every day will lead to knowing His will for us.

If we want to be strong and do God’s will, we need to begin now training our minds to know His will.

Physical training keeps our bodies in shape but our bodies are only temporary. We should also practice spiritual training for our eternal reward.

1 Corinthians 9:25 “All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.” (NLT)

We can so easily, accidentally forget, especially if it was convenient and saved face.

I found I had to reinforce things in my life, by repeating them until I could believe them. Affirmations is a good example, and for me it was How It Works and the Preamble in the AA's Big Book.

AA PREAMBLE

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
