Avoiding ourselves is one thing that we're all good at that all of us will need to get over once we come into recovery. As a newcomers this can be very overwhelming for most of us because for a lot of us we have no idea of who we are and it can be frightening to find out, but it's okay that we do because none of us have to stay that way and as long as we do what recovery teaches us to do, and none of us will that's a guarantee that all of us can count on. Recovery is not a death sentence like many of us like to think that it is, to the contrary it's the beginning of a new way of living life for all of us that includes us being able to look at ourselves. While this might be startling to do at first, what's even more amazing to all of us is that none of us have to stay the way we are if we don't want to because of us being in recovery. It's a very powerful thing that happens to all of us once we all begin to do the things that recovery suggests we do, and one of them is for all of us to be willing to take a look at who we are and be honest with ourselves to who we've all become. We all do this knowing that this is the only way that any of us will ever be able to become who we want to be, that's been part of us all long, When we take a look at ourselves it brings this out into the open as well for us to see, and when we've done this it makes us happy that we're in recovery, and that we're able to finally see ourselves, and for the first time for all of us we'll all like who we see.
