Most of the ideas that all of us have brought with us into our recovery won't be of much use to us as we all go along in our recovery, and we'll see that it's okay for us to abandon these ideas one by one. We learn from recovery that the simpler we keep things, the easier it gets for all of us, and that we'll all be better off. When we are all making this easier for ourselves we are all then able to get what it is that all of us need so that we all can stay in recovery. One of the many things that all of us love to over think and to over complicate, that does none of us any good, has to do with our ideas about a higher power. For all of us, and for our purpose in recovery the only thing that's required for any of us is that we all acknowledge that there is one, and that it is greater than us, and that it's not us, that's all that any of us have to do. It's when we all go beyond this is when most of us get ourselves into trouble, and if we're not careful we all end up thinking our way right out of recovery. We are not the ones who are in control, something else is, and as long as we can acknowledge this, then all of us are going to be okay, and be able to stay here in recovery.
