One of the bad habits we all got into from having this problem was telling ourselves and everyone else for that matter that we didn't care. In recovery we'll see that it's okay if we care and that it's a good thing that we do. It's by caring that all of us become connected and in the same way it's when we've been telling ourselves that we didn't care we all have lost that connection that is so vital for our own well being. This is how this problem works by using us to do things that harm ourselves without us even being aware that we are doing these things, or thinking that we don't care. That's why it's so hard to overcome this problem on our own, because none of us are able to see it's doing this to us. It can take some time before we're able to begin to care again, but it starts for us all by letting others care for us. And no one cares for us more than someone else who knows exactly what it's like to have this problem. In recovery we do care and we want to help and we can help like no one else can, if only you'll let us.
