We can be our best friend or our worst enemy after we come to recovery, the choice is ours to make. Some things to remember about being in recovery is that it doesn't have to be perfect to be good enough for us, and that it's all we'll ever need for now on to meet all of life's challenges. Also, that we're not giving up by starting recovery, we're just going to try doing things a different way, a way that has worked for many who are just like us, and we hope it will work for us. We do surrender to the fact that we'll never be able to be successful at beating this problem on our own, this we do by giving up doing things our way, because we've already proved that doesn't work, so there is no sense in even continuing to try that, it doesn't work. Another thing we'll find is strength in numbers, by being in recovery we found something bigger than us, that allows for us all to do together what none of us could do alone. Come try recovery. We might be surprised at how much we'll like being in recovery, and one thing for sure we'll never be any worse off from trying to do so.
