Why wait to do something about it was what was said to me after I had become aware I was alcoholic. I thought well since I'm still young and now know more about why I'm the way I'm, I'll handle it from here, thanks. Much to the credit of the guy who was helping me he said, maybe you can and I can't tell you what to do but I want you to remember this. Alcoholism is progressive it gets worse, never better and the longer you wait the harder it is to stop drinking. Sometimes it becomes impossible for some to stop at all. Also by not stopping drinking we open ourselves up to possible doing some of the many stupid and dumb things that we do when we're drunk that have led to tragic end for many of us and innocent bystanders. Suddenly just like that, it's over in an instant. All has been lost to this disease just because we choose to go on drinking even after we know. If we had stopped all this could have been averted. Waiting for what ends up happening to us when we go on drinking is never worth it and can cost us way too much. For some it cost them everything. Many young people lose out to this disease every day. Why wait to make the choice to do something about this? The end is a lot closer than we know this is our last chance.
