Default Serving God

SERVING GOD

Whatever we think about the most is what we treasure the most. If our thoughts are always on money and things, well, that is where our treasure lies. If our thoughts are always on how good we can look and what we can buy to help us look better, then we are too focused on us. Scripture says, God says to obey Him. God says to love Him. God says to walk in His ways, stay close to Him and serve Him. We can’t treasure money and worldly things and serve God at the same time. It’s just not possible.

Joshua 22:5 “But be very careful to obey all the commands and the instructions that Moses gave to you. Love the Lord your God, walk in all his ways, obey his commands, hold firmly to him, and serve him with all your heart and all your soul.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, reveal to us where we are not serving You. We know we are to give You our time, our talents and our treasures. When spend too much time wrapped up in us or in the things of the world, we aren’t being obedient to You and we aren’t serving You. We want to serve only You, Lord. Give us the wisdom, knowledge and strength to do so today. We know we can find all You want us to do in Your word. Help us to seek and serve You today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God tells us to be careful to obey all of His commands. If we obey those who do not follow God, we will be led astray.

God tells us to love Him and walk in His ways. If we love and follow anyone else, we will be lost.

God tells us to hold firmly to Him. If we are holding on to anything else, we will soon be in sinking sand.

God tells us to serve Him with all our hearts and all our souls. How are we doing this today?

When we serve only God, obey Him, listen to His voice and cling to Him, we will find all the hope and peace we will ever need.

Deuteronomy 13:4 “Serve only the Lord your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him.” (NLT)

Focus: If we don’t have peace in our lives, we aren’t serving God as we should be.

We stay sober and clean together - one day at a time!
God says that each of us is worth loving.
