Default Topic of the Week, words that begin with "H"

H is for Hugs! Hugs not drugs. Hugs are an exchange of energy. For me it means welcome, glad you are here to share your journey with me. We can do what I can't do alone. We can travel this journey together, hand in hand.

H is for "Hi."

Say "Hi!" to someone who needs cheering up instead of feeling sorry for yourself and getting high.

H is for Honesty. Not only honesty with others, cash register honesty, but self-honesty. One of my early sayings was, "Would the real JoAnne, please stand up." I use to talk about myself in the third person.

H is for Hope. I found hope in the rooms of recovery. It was reinforced by going to a Promises Meeting.

H is for Happy! Happy, joyous and free when I don't return to my life of bondage to alcohol.

Happy memories! I no longer black out and forget things, or movies, or what people have told me.

Happy mornings! No more hangovers, headaches, throwing up.

Happy doctor visits! No worries about alcohol related illness.

Happy pocket book! Save lots of money.

Happy soul! That knows the joy of a guiltless relationship with my Maker.

H is for Honesty. I needed to get honest in order to heal. Honest with myself, my God, and my family and friends. If I can't be honest with me, I can't be truly honest with you.

H is for Habits.

Practice makes perfect. We can practice good, positive habits to replace our old bad, destructive habits.

The positive habits will make us and those around us feel and be better. They will take root like beautiful flowers and we can pull the old habits out of the garden like old weeds.

We fertilize with God and fellowship for hardy and gorgeous flowers!!!!

H is for Hugs. Hugs not drugs. It doesn't mean "cop a feel," it means exchange energy, and show someone you care and recovery is about no longer alone and we can do this together.
