Default A Light For My Path

A Light For My Path

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." Psalm 119:105

God's WORD is a lamp, a candle that shines forth, giving us clearer vision and lighting the pathway ahead. When we look to His WORD for guidance and instruction there will be no question in what direction He desires us to go. The light will clearly show us where He is leading us. The world stumbles about in darkness; they have no direction for their lives. They are as blind men groping in the dark, trying to get to their destinations, but never really sure of where they are. We have been blessed with God's WORD, it gives us direction, it lights the way for us. We no longer have to stumble about, reaching out in the darkness, trying to determine where we are, for we have been given light. We can see clearly where we are and where we need to go. Let us never neglect this lamp, never set it aside, for if we do, we will find ourselves in darkness once more.

O LORD, thank you for the light of your WORD. May we never neglect to use this lamp you have given us. Help us to use it to find our way. Let us not stumble about, trying figure out on our own where to go, when the lamp is sitting right there on our nightstand waiting for us to pick it up and use it! We thank you that you have not left us in darkness. May we never take your WORD for granted, but remember it is your way of speaking to us. Speak to us, O LORD, for we are listening. Amen

For me, the light comes from many sources, the AA Big Book, the NA Basic Text, those thought that come to mind, after asking my God to lead and direct my path, just for today. The Good Orderly Direction is there, whether it comes from people, places and things.

To my way of thinking, these books were divinely inspired.

When I was caught up in addiction, I used people, places and things. In today, my God utilizes people, places and things to show me a better way of life.
