Easter
I rejoice in the Christ Spirit within. This Easter morning, I rejoice in Jesus Christ for demonstrating that no worldly tomb can imprison the living, loving, eternal Spirit of God. No matter what the circumstances, the resurrecting power of the Christ within restores and uplifts us. Whatever challenge I may be facing, I experience new faith and hope in the spirit and message of Easter. I rejoice in knowing I can “die” to my former self and be born anew—transformed and triumphant—through the power of the risen Christ in me. The Christ within invites me to rise up and walk in newness of life. I am liberated from any thoughts of weakness. I am free, powerful, and victorious. Thank you, Jesus Christ, for showing us the way to resurrection. I am the resurrection and the life.—John 11:25 Daily Word

We are renewed each day, and each day is a new beginning. It depends on whether I reach out or just take my God for granted.
As they say, "A day can start any time." I can pause, stop and turn my day over to my God at any time during the day. When I tried to quit smoking, my controlling issues came out. I was trying to make the cigarettes and the hours come together. I didn't want to have any left over, and if I was running out, I wasn't sure I would have enough to get to the end of day, what if I can't sleep. Finally, I found the solution. I lit my last cigarette at 2:15 p.m. on December 21st, 1998, I had 7 years sober. When I butted the cigarette, I said, the Serenity Prayer and said, just for today, I choose not to use. I choose not to pick up this drug and went to NA meetings and applied the Steps, collected key tags. One day at a time, I have not picked up a cigarette. If I picked up a cigarette, it would kill me faster than picking up a drink.
