Default Shifting Gears

When new to recovery most of what we're told that we need to do, in order for us to be in recovery, is not easy for any of us to do, at the time we're being asked to do it, but in time this does become easier for all of us to do. What's even more difficult for all of us to do, is to let go of what's not working for us, and this too becomes easier to do with time. Looking at all this it would seem impossible for any of us to be able to get well now, and to be in recovery. Well it's not, and it's still possible for any of us to do this, and many of us have already done so, and it can be done by any of us when we stop demanding things to be our way, and on our terms, and for them to happen when we want them to happen. Instead of realizing and knowing now, that this is going to take some time, and to hold on as best as we know how while we wait. More things are going on with us now that we're trying to be in recovery more than meets the eye. Below the surface things are changing for us now and it takes time for these changes to come up to be part of our everyday living, but they always do, if we're willing to just give them the time to. As soon as we become willing to shift gears from always wanting things to be our way and start to become willing to wait for the good things to happen, is when they begin to happen for all of us.
