Default Learn Not To Stray

LEARN NOT TO STRAY

Many of us get off track on a regular basis. We stray from what we are supposed to be doing because we get distracted. We get off track in getting things done because others interrupt us. We lose focus on what is important because we get tired or bored. However, one area we need to be sure we are not straying from is in our daily time with God. When we stray from building a relationship with Him, we are putting other things or people before Him. Doing this will lead to seeking the ways of the world rather than God. We should keep our time with God first and foremost in our daily routine so we learn not to stray.

SCRIPTURE: Ezekiel 14:10-11 “False prophets and those who seek their guidance will all be punished for their sins. In this way, the people of Israel will learn not to stray from me, polluting themselves with sin. They will be my people, and I will be their God. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. List ways you have strayed from daily time with God.
2. Write down how you need to get back on track.
3. Pray asking God to help you focus more on Him.
4. Remember Him in all you do and catch yourself before you stray.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, we know it is so easy to stray away from You. It just takes a moment of temptation to get off track. It just takes someone telling us a coarse joke or gossiping to turn us away from focusing on You. Help us to keep our eyes on You. Help us to keep Your word in our hearts. Remind us daily when we spend our quiet time with You that we need not stray because there is no one on this earth who loves us and cares for us like You. Thank You, Lord, for watching over Your flock. We love You and want to do Your will. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
God wants us to stay close to Him so it won’t be so easy to stray from His word.

When we stay in God’s word and pray, He can help us remember Him when we are tempted to stray.

God wants us to learn His word and have a close relationship with Him so we won’t stray away from Him and begin to desire the things of the world.
