Ahead of the demands

You cannot avoid the fact that life demands much of you. What you can do, is demand even more of yourself.

Expect more of yourself than others expect of you. Then, instead of being pressured by the expectations and demands of others, you’ll already be way ahead of those expectations.

Set your standards higher than anyone else you know, and live each moment true to those high standards. You’ll never have to be concerned about failing to meet anyone else’s standards.

Set your own deadlines, far in advance of those deadlines you know you will have to meet. Then, instead of rushing to catch up, you’ll already be able to move forward to whatever is next.

Life is demanding, yet you can choose to be even more demanding of yourself. That enables you to meet the demands of life on your own terms.

Choose to see life’s demands not as a burden, but as an opportunity. Get out ahead of those demands, where you can work on your own terms to create achievement, satisfaction and fulfillment.

Feel your new strength

Over the last few weeks and months, you have grown stronger. Today, feel your new strength.

In living your life, in meeting the challenges, you have learned and experienced, become more capable and effective. Step back, look at yourself objectively, and see how those new capabilities can be put to good use.

The future is bright because of the effort you’ve put forth to work through the past. Every challenge you’ve encountered has left you with new, positive possibilities.

Feel your new strength, and feel the urge that grows within you to put that strength into action. Remind yourself of what matters to you, and see new, creative ways to expand life’s goodness.

Once, you had great dreams, goals and ambitions, and you still do. Now, you are stronger and more capable of reaching them than ever before.

Feel your new strength, and feel the fresh new desire it gives birth to, the desire to make a difference. With purpose, passion, and an inspired love for life, put that desire into action.

Now add some action

You’ve got a big, exciting dream. Now add some action to it.

You’ve considered, planned and prepared. Now add some action.

You’re full of hope, and have worked yourself into a positive attitude. Now bring it all home with some good, solid action.

Are you wondering whether your idea has any merit? Put it into action and find out.

There’s a time for planning, for thinking, for talking and for preparing a detailed strategy. Then comes the time to put that strategy into action.

The possibilities of now are great, and they’re calling to you. Now, add some action.

You are needed

Because you’ve achieved, you now have the chance to do it again. Because you’ve persisted, you now can gain great value from continuing to persist.

Did you think this would be easy? Did you think you would be able to make one leap and then never have to make any effort again?

That’s not the way it works, and you wouldn’t want it to anyway. What gives richness to your life is the opportunity to participate, again and again, in making good things happen.

You are needed, you are necessary, you are in demand as someone who can make a difference. Consider what a blessing that is, and then think of what you can do about it.

All your effort has bought for you the opportunity to make even greater effort. That’s a very good and desirable thing.

You are needed to make a difference in life, today and every day. Feel how great it feels to be so needed, and enjoy fulfilling your beautiful obligation.

Embrace the miracle

Give life a reason to be good today. Allow yourself the space, the energy and the will to make it so.

Remind yourself that the future is always open to the way you choose to bend it. Give love, kindness, goodness and focused effort, making much more hope than there was before.

Offer yourself all kinds of chances to be yourself, true, joyful, curious, even adventurous. Take yourself up on those offers.

Think of the things that make you smile, and see if you can discover new ways to support, encourage and share them. Think of the things that challenge you, and decide to find new strength in stepping up to them.

Let your positive spirit fill your every action. Let yourself see how good life is, whatever conditions the moment may hold.

Here is your day to live like you love it. Embrace the miracle, and give it all your best.

Unhindered by the past

What if you woke up each day clearly remembering everything in your past without being emotionally hindered by any of it? What if you could treat each new moment as a fresh opportunity, free of outdated assumptions, resentment, anger, regret or doubt?

In fact, you can. You can choose what to think, and even how to feel.

In this moment, and every moment, you can think of your highest goals as achievable. You can feel passionate about living with positive purpose, and feel fully empowered to do so.

You can view the problems not as permanent barriers but rather as pathways for meaningful achievement. You can see the disappointments not as excuses to give up, but as reasons to push forward.

Your past can inform you, inspire you, and help you to understand who you are. Yet it never has to hold you back.

Right now is your opportunity to move decisively toward what you know is right. Now is when you create the future, unhindered by the past.

Seeing life in a new light

Your perspective is valuable. Changing it can be even more so.

Looking at the world from where you are, you see many useful things. Looking at it from somewhere else, you can see many more.

Habits, assumptions, and expectations support you and can serve you well. Sometimes, though, they can hide your best possibilities from you.

Every so often, choose to get away from the comfortable and expected. Give yourself a better idea of how life can be when it is not what you think it is.

Step away from what you always do and discover some things you never knew. Decide to take a different path, and even to venture down some of its side roads.

Give yourself the experience of seeing life in a new light. And you will illuminate a whole new set of great ideas.

Know you can do it

The only way to know you can do it is to do it. Have faith, and take the first step.

The only way to get beyond failure is to give it another shot, and another. Get back up, look in the direction of where you’re going and not where you’ve been, and go.

Remember why you started in the first place. And keep going.

You are always amazing when you choose to persist and when the work really means something to you. Latch on to the strong sense of purpose that will push you back up every time you fall, and keep going.

It will be harder than you thought and you’ll be stronger than you realized. That’s precisely why nothing else equals the feeling of achievement.

Create a lot more of that grand feeling for yourself. Share it far and wide.

Good things to be done

In this moment, on this day, is a whole world of possibilities. Grab on to the good ones, the ones that enrich all of life, and let them unfold through your efforts.

The energy of life surrounds you and flows through you. Give it a positive, purposeful direction.

There is beauty to be seen, to be loved, and more beauty to be created from it. There are ideas to be explored, experiences to be lived, lives to be lifted up, and value to be created.

Fly right on past all the petty, superficial concerns. You have important, fulfilling work to do.

You can learn, you can teach, you can love, encourage, build and improve. You can generously and respectfully offer your own perspective and your own efforts to a world that is rich in its potential.

There are lots of good things to be done, and today is your day to do them. Filled with love for life and its great possibilities, give it your best.

Bring positive energy

At times, other people will disappoint you. But that doesn’t mean you have to be disappointing in return.

In some cases, people will frustrate you with their recklessness and irritate you with their thoughtlessness. Yet the best response is not to be even more reckless or thoughtless yourself.

On the contrary, you have the opportunity to lead life and to lead others in a more positive direction. Yes, it takes strength and maturity, and yes you have it and can do it.

Imagine transforming a confrontational situation into an experience of cooperation and mutual respect. Imagine being the person to do that, and how quietly satisfying it feels.

Sure, it is naive to think you can resolve every conflict. But it is foolish to neglect the very real opportunities to work through differences in a peaceful and productive way.

See if you can swallow your disappointment and irritation, and look instead for ways to bring positive energy to negative situations. Chances are, you’ll make the difference that will make things better.

Big deal

Most of the things you make a big deal about won’t be a big deal for long. Many of the things that consume your attention, you won’t even remember in a couple of weeks.

Life sends a whole lot of seemingly urgent matters your way. The majority of those matters don’t really matter.

Before you get all caught up in the crisis of the moment, step back. Look at it from the perspective of your entire life.

If it really does matter in the big picture of things, then plunge yourself fully into doing something positive and useful about it. If it really doesn’t matter, then move yourself on to whatever does.

Make all the time you spend with life, quality time. Invest that time in the service of what you care about.

There is plenty of time to do what matters, if you will simply stay away from what doesn’t. Give your moments the respect they deserve, and from them you’ll create rich fulfillment.

Opportunity to create love

Today is an opportunity to create love. Today is an opportunity to care, and to put your caring into action.

You do not need permission, or any special skills or resources, to make a loving difference. All you have to be, is to be yourself, and to be willing.

Life is good for you to the extent you choose to give of yourself to it. Enjoy the opportunity that today gives you to give your best, to give your love.

Life is good, and you can add to the goodness in your own special ways. Right now, enjoy the experience of being a positive influence.

You will never regret the love you create. Even when the love you give is not recognized or appreciated by others, your life will be richer for having given it.

This day brings moments you can fill with whatever you choose. Fill them with love, and you’ll fill them as full as they can possibly be.

Live true

The way to care is not to find fault with others for failing to care. The way to truly, effectively care is to show, with your actions and your life, how you care.

The way to communicate a truth is not to insist on it, but to demonstrate it, to live it. The way to convince is not to argue, but to understand.

Being of assistance to others does not mean making them indebted to you. Give, not to boost your ego or influence, but to express the beauty of being alive.

To truly enjoy life, let go of any limitations you have placed on joy. Instead of setting up elaborate situations and expecting joy to come from them, simply choose to give joy to any situation.

Rather than striving to deny or hide from or fight against the truth, embrace it. Accept what is true, and put the power of truth on your side.

Though the universe is delightfully complex, life, at its heart, is not particularly complicated. Live true to who you are and though it won’t always be easy, you’ll live well.

— Ralph Marston

Great things you can do

Feel your power today by putting it to use. Instead of wishing, worrying or wondering, discover how much you can accomplish by actually doing.

The problems that burden you will be less of a burden when you go to work on them. The challenges will loose their power to intimidate you once you experience yourself making progress.

This day is packed full of opportunity. The way to seize that opportunity is to take decisive action.

Find out what works and what doesn’t. Provide yourself with a whole new daily dose of real life, practical experience.

Grow stronger and more capable by making use of your capabilities. Stretch them to the limit, and then figure out new ways to go beyond those limits.

Today, there is a whole day full of great things you can do. Get busy, and enjoy discovering what they are.

Put excellence into it

Wherever you go, leave excellence in your wake. Whatever you do, discover ways to put excellence into it.

Excellence may not be perfection, yet excellence is certainly headed in that direction. Excellence happens when you live and act with the highest respect for the life of which you are fortunate to be a part.

Excellence is a mix of profound gratitude, uncompromisingly high expectations, persistent action, unyielding focus, love, respect and compassion. Excellence is fueled by a sincere appreciation for the opportunity you have to make a difference.

The point of excellence is not to gain advantage over others. The point of excellence is to make maximum and meaningful use of the abundance in which you’re immersed.

Excellence is a vision of the best life can offer. Excellence is the act of following through with that vision, in every moment, in every situation, every day.

Your life deserves all the excellence you’re willing to put into it. Live with an attitude of excellence, and use every opportunity to push the whole world forward.
