Who are ya?
Who are ya?
"...I am fearfully and wonderfully made..." Psalm 139:14 NIV Your true identity is found only in Jesus. Listen to whom the Bible says you are: You are 'a child of God' (John 1:12), You are 'Christ's friend' (John 15:15) You are 'a new creation' (2 Corinthians 5:17) You are 'God's workmanship - His handiwork - born anew in Christ to do His work' (Ephesians 2:10) You are 'a saint' ( Ephesians 1:1) You are 'righteous and holy' (Ephesians 4:24) You are 'a citizen of Heaven' (Philippians 3:20 ) You are 'hidden with Christ in God' (Colossians 3:3) You are an 'expression of the life of Christ because He is your life' (Colossians 3:4) You are 'chosen of God, holy and dearly loved' (Colossians 3:12) You are a 'child of light and not of darkness' (1Thessalonians 5:5) You are a 'member of a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession' (1 Peter 2:9-10) You are an 'alien and stranger to this world in which you temporarily live' (1 Peter 2;11) You are an 'enemy of the devil' (1Peter 5:8) You are a 'child of God and you will resemble Jesus when He returns' (1 John 3:1-2) You are 'born of God - and the evil one cannot touch you' (1 John 5:18) You are 'fearfully and wonderfully made' and that's just the start! Know your worth, know your value. It's found in Jesus. Word4U2Day

A good question to ask ourselves. It calls for self-honesty. For me it is taking time to meditate and spend time with my God and ask for clarity and knowing as to what His will is for me. Am I on track, did I make a detour, did I slip back into the familiar and acting out in old behaviours and habits? Am I aware of others, do I slip back into self-centeredness? Do I have a closed mind and tunnel vision? Do I have selective hearing and do I internalize instead of speaking up and sharing with others. Do I make my world go around or do I put it in the care of my God.
Who am I in today? Am I my own best friend, do I like spending time with me or do I escape and go back to looking for some person, place or thing to take me out of myself, instead of working on my recovery? I can`t give away what I don`t have. Am I drained, empty with a void that I forgot to feed and fill up with spiritual things? The list goes on. It isn`t about being all about me, but me becoming a better me, the person my God wants me to be in today. What did I need to change when I came into recovery? Everything! My ideas, my thoughts, my actions, my friends, my doctor, my habits, etc. I could no longer ignore me by looking at everything else to escape my reality.
