New and need support
Hi all, I am just a few days sober but formerly had a year and a half sobriety in the program. I’ve been going to meetings and met with my former sponsor but today is really hard. My partner of two years has stopped all communication with me out of the blue. I am unable to contact him. I have very bad anxiety and issues with abandonment. It’s really important for me to stay sober and the pain I am experiencing is unbearable. It is night time where I am and I have reached out and spent time with people in recovery today. I don’t have an option to not be alone right now and it is very difficult for me so I am reaching out to the Internet for inspiration and to not feel so alone and helpless. Thanks!

Hey Kcmcc, I am glad you chose to reach out. I am sorry to hear about your partner. Going to meetings and reaching out to your sponsor is exactly the right thing to do. Also make sure you get lots of phone numbers. Don't pick up the drink as we all know it won't make anything better. Instead pick up the phone and call someone or like you did here reach out to someone on the internet. Keep going to your meetings and also talking with your sponsor. Here is the link to a chat that also may be of help to you https://stepchat.com/ . You can talk to others there and they also have online meetings there. Please feel free to continue to come here and share with us. We are here for you.
