The Eyes Have It
Today's Turning Point with David Jeremiah
The Eyes Have It The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. Psalm 19:8 Recommended Reading Psalm 19 [ http://iz3.me/qVOo2zeTx1A1 ] Others can tell a lot about us by our eyes. If we have dark circles, we’re probably fatigued or struggling with a thyroid problem. Bloodshot eyes can indicate eyestrain or even glaucoma. If our eyes are yellowish, we may have liver disease. Puffy eyes indicate too much salt. Our moods and emotions also show up in our eyes, which are the mirrors of our souls. Listen to Today's Radio Message [ http://iz3.me/rVOo2zeTx1A1 ] The best way to keep our spiritual eyes healthy is by directing them to God’s Word. When we read and ponder the Scripture, it enlightens our eyes. To have a vibrant life in Christ is to know and obey God’s Word. The psalmist taught us to pray, “Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law” (Psalm 119:18). It may seem hard at first to find time for daily Bible study; but once we decide to do it, make it a firm choice, and begin to work it into our schedule, it becomes a habit. Experts warn it may take several months for a new habit to become ingrained, but don’t give up. Start at once and, this year, feast your eyes on God’s Word every day. The Bible is the comprehensive guidebook for living the Christian life. Rick Warren Read-Thru-the-Bible Genesis 18–20 [ http://iz3.me/sVOo2zeTx1A1 ]
