A Visit
A Visit
Thought for the Day "We can all be instruments of God's joy. As nice as a periodic phone call or note might be, a personal visit to someone lonely or in need can brighten their day and can keep us feeling more closely connected to God as we carry out His work on earth." _________________________________ Today's Word "I have much to write to you, but I do not want to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete." (2 John 12 NIV) _________________________________ Today's Prayer Lord, let me take time today to visit someone lonely or in need and help bring them some of the joy that you bring into my life. Amen The Whisper Of God

This reminds me of the night I did a meditation when I was just over 7 years sober. I laid back in my easy boy chair afterward and I felt like the Hand of God touched me from the top of my head to the tip of my toes. Due to abuse, my body was very rigid with fear and many other hurts and feelings that I had yet to deal with. I didn't go to sexual counselling until I was 15 years sober. I thought I had dealt with everything in my 4th Step, but I needed additional healing. The body remembers and when I got up from that chair, I felt like I had my zig to go with my zag and I was free of all the old body memories that had kept me in check and stopped me from going forward in a lot of areas of my life. Shortly afterward, I ended the relationship I was in. I realized that he saw me as his Higher Power and was looking to me to fill all his needs. God fills our needs, we don't have to go outside of ourselves to be fulfilled.
