Wanting It
None of us wanted the way of life we were living before recovery. We would never have chosen it. That way of living life was no good, but we're all stuck to it, and it seemed like there was no way of breaking free from it. This is our dilemma, and it was the very same dilemma the founders of the 12 steps of recovery were struggling with. They found a solution for our dilemma. It's a new way of living life, one that works under any and all conditions. When I was a newcomer that sounded good to me, like one I wanted to have right away. I asked what I had to do to get it and I was told I had to be willing to let go of that old life that wasn't working, and all that was represented by it, like drinking. We choose this new way of living life by wanting it. It's only for those that want it, many will need it but only those that want it, get it
