Default Daily Spiritual Meditations - April 2

Precious Promises – Day 2 by SGLY Ministry

Today’s Promise: ANXIETY
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 [NKJV]

Today’s Thought:
What does it mean to be anxious?
The dictionary defines anxious as:

full of mental distress or uneasiness
greatly worried about something
earnestly desirous or eager about something

So, we can be anxious that something bad will happen
OR:
anxious for something good to happen,
EITHER
God says we should not do.
He says we should be anxious for nothing.

God says we should:

Pray about it.(Let Him know about it.)
Submit it to Him.(Let it go–give it to Him.)
Give Thanks to Him for it.(And for what He will do about it.)

If we do that, then we will receive His peace about it in our minds and hearts.

Today’s Prayer:
Dear God,
I want to claim this Precious Promise regarding Anxiety.
I want to live in Your Peace instead of being Anxious about anything.
So each time I feel anxiety about something I will:
A. Pray about it.
B. Submit it to You
C. Give You Thanks for it.(And for what You will do about it.)
D. I will gladly then receive Your peace.
Thank You, God , that I do not have to be anxious for anything
but can always choose to live in peace. Amen

Today’s Scripture: “Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” (Proverbs 12:18, NIV)

The Tongue of the Wise

It’s easy to see how words can be used like a weapon. We’ve all either been “cut” by the words of others, or we’ve used words to put someone “in their place.” The truth of the matter is that when we use words recklessly, we are not being wise. Scripture tells us that the tongue of the wise brings life and healing to others.

Today, look for ways to be wise. Find something nice to say about someone. Share an encouraging word. Let your words bring healing to those around you. You never know how you can change a person’s life by sharing a kind and gracious word.

Always remember, words are like seeds. When you plant words of life and blessing into others, you will reap a harvest of blessing in your own life in return. Be wise and bring healing!

A Prayer for Today: “Father, today I choose to be wise. I submit my tongue to You and commit to use it for good and not for evil. Show me ways to be a blessing to others. Help me find creative ways to encourage the people You have placed in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Comfort

God’s presence comforts me.

No matter where I am or what I am doing, the presence of God is with me. Just like the constant rhythm of my breath, the presence of God continuously moves in and through me, supporting me at all times.

When I find myself focused on a situation causing me distress, I immediately stop and focus my attention on God, turning my mind away from the problem and centering my thoughts on God. I concentrate on my breathing—slowly inhaling, and then gently exhaling. I meditate on the qualities of Spirit such as love, peace, and joy.

Soon, I experience soothing relief. The presence of God’s love is always with me, and I can seek it for comfort at any time.

Let your steadfast love become my comfort according to your promise to your servant.—Psalm 119:76

Share Your Blessings

Thought for the Day

"What might be our purpose in life? Possibly to share our blessings... God has blessed us all in different ways. Take what God has blessed you with and try to find a way to share it with and help others. There is no better feeling than knowing you made a difference somehow in someone else's life."

Today's Word

"And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: "They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever." (2 Corinthians 9:8-9 NIV)

Today's Prayer

Thank You, Father, for blessing me in many ways. Some have been big blessings but many have been small, sometimes easily unnoticed, blessings. Let me find a way to share the blessings You have bestowed on me with others so they may also benefit from what You have so generously given to me. Amen

God's Word For Today

Alone with the Father

Read Judges 19:1 through 21:25; Luke 5:12–31

Busyness. Just the sound of the word seems frantic. Yet many people tend to live their lives in constant motion, dictated by a long daily to-do list or pursuing random activities. At the end of the day, they feel totally exhausted and dread the next morning when they will get up and start their hectic pace again. They long for some time to themselves for a little peace and quiet.

But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed (Luke 5:16).

The Gospels tell us that Jesus felt worn down by the crush of the crowds and the unending demands of those who wanted something from Him. At those times, Jesus would get away by himself and reconnect with His Father for renewal and fellowship.

Like Jesus, we need to slow down sometimes and spend time reading God’s Word and praying. It is in those quiet times that God refreshes His people.

Thought for Today: Spend some unhurried time in prayer and Bible reading today.

Quicklook: Luke 5:12–16

**********

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God.... — Isaiah 43:2-3 (NIV)

You Are Not Alone by Joyce Meyer

When you’re going through difficult times, it’s so important to remember that God is right there with you, and you can trust Him to help you through it.

God never promised us a trouble-free life, but He does promise to never leave us or forsake us (see Hebrews 13:5). In the hard times, we can take comfort knowing that He loves us tremendously, He has His eye on us, and He is already working behind the scenes to help us (see Romans 8:38-39; Psalm 33:18).

I’ve also learned from experience that we can trust God to use these times for our benefit (see Romans 8:28). When everything seems uncertain and unstable, He helps us draw closer to Him and hang on to the rock of our salvation—Jesus Christ—who cannot be moved or shaken!

When we’re hit by life’s storms or experience things we don’t understand, that’s when we have to remember that God is always with us—no matter what we think or feel, and no matter what our circumstances look like.

Jesus is with you through every storm, and you are going to come out stronger on the other side. He’s the One Who loves you unconditionally, and He’s the One Who can turn your difficult times into something great.

And as you trust God through it all, He will give you something stable—He will give you more of Himself.

Pray: “God, I thank You for always being with me—in the good times and also when life gets difficult. Please help me to draw closer to You when life doesn’t make sense. I trust You, and I know that You will work everything out for My good. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
