Here For Ourselves

None of us ever show up here in recovery for ourselves, by the time we all get here, who we really are has been long last in our pursuit of what we all thought was going to make everything okay for us. That never works but is the reason that we all are now here together in recovery. Learning about who we are never seemed to have much interest with any of us as long we all could go on pretending to be whoever we wanted to be but those days are now over because of us being in recovery besides which that never really worked for any of us anyways. In recovery we will all learn all about who we really are and it's a good thing that we do because it is by knowing this that all of us will be spared from what this problem of ours does to all of us that comes from all of us having a distorted view of ourselves. It's when we can get to know ourselves as we really are, and not by some sick conjured up view of who we all thought we had to be, then we will all start to learn how to be able to be here for ourselves. No one is ever coming to save any of us. We all have to be willing to do that for ourselves, and it's by us getting to know who we were all really meant to be that allows all of us to learn how to do be here for ourselves, just for ourselves, and not for anyone else but for ourselves.
